The Remodel: Days 6-9

–It stopped snowing. Now it is raining. And flooding.

–Power went out for a bit at the house today. Guys did more demo work while it was out. At school, in the dark, a kid spilled chocolate milk on the carpet. We managed to clean that up by flashlight. Not 2 minutes later, another kid pukes on the floor. Thank goodness the lights came back on!

–Leak in roof continues to leak. Guys say they will fix it when it stops raining.

–Half bath was demoed today. Someone thought wallpaper with teeny ducks was a good plan sometime after 1958 when the house was built.

-Trim is gone from the remainder of the house. Found some gorgeous flowery wallpaper under there.

–We made lots of light placement decisions. So many can lights!

–We are running out of room in our electrical box. I am not sure what turn this will take.

–Day 7 brought removal of the subfloor in the kitchen and a lot of dust in the basement.

–Day 8–so many light decisions to make! Hopefully we saved some money by reusing lights and choosing lots of can lights.

–Legit conversation at my house:
Deanna, “Do you guys get naked and afriad?”
Dawn, “I am not usually afraid when I am naked.”
Deanna, “It is a TV show.”
Dawn, “I know mom.”

–Day 9–subfloor replaced in the kitchen.

–Thor pooped on the floor again today. The good news is that I didn’t step in it on the way out the door.

–Wall into the master bedroom has been demolished. We have to rethink the bench in the master shower so it is not tiny.
